South Morang - Kinglake Loop (anti-clockwise)

An 81.8 km anticlockwise road loop from South Morang through the north-eastern hills toward St Andrews and Kinglake, returning through the Whittlesea side of the district. Rural scenery and the long climb to the Kinglake plateau are the main attractions.

With about 800 m of ascent, this is a hillier, longer outing than the suburban trail rides. The route is paved, but includes roads shared with traffic and winding descents. Carry food, water and an extra layer, and choose conditions that suit your experience.
